Jennifer Matsu, OTR, M.O.T.

Jennifer Matsu, OTR, M.O.T. is the co-founder of Children’s TheraFun. Jennifer is a native Houstonian and graduated from the University of Houston with a B.A. in psychology. Jennifer then worked in Santa Barbara, California where she was a Qualified Mental Health Worker on a multidisciplinary team providing play therapy and DIRFloortime ® to children 0-6 years old and as an Early Intervention Specialist with the birth-3 population. She was a therapeutic horseback riding instructor for children and adults with disabilities.

Jennifer received her Master of Occupational Therapy degree at Texas Woman’s University - Institute of Health Sciences. During her graduate program, Jennifer was awarded numerous awards including the Mary Joyce Newsom Award for the most outstanding occupational therapy student. Jennifer completed her pediatric internship at Texas Children’s Hospital where she remained on staff. Jennifer has been in private practice since 2009 and specializes in working with children who have difficulties related to ADHD, Dysgraphia, Dyspraxia, Developmental Coordination Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, sensory processing, handwriting, visual motor/visual perception, and play skills. Jennifer works with children of all ages individually and also holds weekly social-motor groups.

Jennifer is a current member of her profession’s state and national associations and has served on the Board of Directors of the Texas Occupational Therapy Association and as an adjunct professor of advanced pediatrics at Texas Woman’s University’s graduate occupational therapy program. Jennifer has additional training in Integrated Listening Systems, Handwriting Without Tears, Interactive Metronome, Zones of Regulation, Alert Program, DIRFlootime® and Sensory Integration. Jennifer is certified to administer and interpret the Sensory Integration and Praxis Test (SIPT). Jennifer has completed Clinical Training in Social Thinking® She continues to give back to her profession as a clinical educator. She volunteers in the community as a sustaining member with the Junior League of Houston and is the past Co-President of the Board of Directors of her child’s school and continues to serve on the Executive Board. Jennifer cherishes her time with her son and enjoys saltwater fly fishing.
